February 05, 2011 - Development Announcement
Misfit Model 3D is no longer under active development. I think it has been pretty clear from the lack of releases since 2009 that I simply don't have the time or interest to work on new features.
The web site and SVN repository are self-hosted. For security reasons I don't have any plans to add commit privileges for anyone. However, if there are any developers out there who are interested in forking the code and continuing development, please let me know. I'd be happy to provide links for the benefit of users who would like to see development continue.
March 09, 2009 - Development Version 1.3.8 Released
This release includes an initial German translation. It improves texture coordinate editing with coordinate rotation and flip, and custom colors for texture coordinate lines and selected vertices. Bug fixes include copy/paste texture assignments for groups and normal rendering for ungrouped faces in skeletal animation mode.
July 01, 2008 - Development Version 1.3.7 Released
This release adds "Export Selected", "Apply to selected" for model transformations, and exact positioning of the rotation point for the rotation tool. It also includes improved support for the Cal3D format and performance fixes for normal calculation and MD3 loading.
January 13, 2008 - Development Version 1.3.6 Released
This release adds support for the Cal3D format (import and export), multiple bone joints in MS3D format, and better MD3_PATH handling for MD3 models. Many bugs fixes are also included.
July 15, 2007 - Development Version 1.3.5 Released
The menus have been re-organized. There is a new command to make normals face outward. The texture coordinate window now has a rotate tool. Material support for COB has been improved. Many animation bugs have been fixed. A "File | Export" command has been added to indicate which formats have less reliable write support.
May 18, 2007 - Development Version 1.3.4 Released
This release includes i18n support and an automatic vertex bone joint assignment feature. Several MD2 import/export bugs have been fixed.
May 18, 2007 - Stable Version 1.2.4 Released
This release includes bug fixes for MD2 importing and exporting.
March 28, 2007 - Translators Needed!
Misfit Model 3D is getting support for internationalization. If you would like to help the project by creating translation files for languages that you speak, check out the Translation thread in the forum for tips on getting started.
February 28, 2007 - Development Version 1.3.3 Released
This release includes arbitrary rotations for orthographic projections, save and restore of viewport direction and zoom with hotkeys, and global matrix transformations applied to the model and animations. Bug fixes include OBJ material file export and alpha blending.
February 28, 2007 - Stable Version 1.2.3 Released
This release includes bug fixes for alpha blending, OBJ material file export, and preferences parsing. Scripting has been disabled by default but can be enabled at compile time.
February 06, 2007 - MM3D Forums
The Misfit Model 3D discussion forums are now open. There are currently two forums, General and Development. Use the "Forums" link in the "Community" section on the left side of the website.
January 22, 2007 - Development Version 1.3.2 Released
This release includes multiple bone joint assignments, free-floating vertices, cylinder and sphere texture mapping, and other texture mapping improvements. Bug fixes include MD3 import and export changes for texture paths and non-animated models.
January 22, 2007 - Stable Version 1.2.2 Released
This release includes bug fixes for Quake MD2 export.
January 15, 2007 - Cal3D: Your Help is Needed!
Support for the Cal3D format is in progress, but development has stalled. Mesh and material support is in place and the skeleton code is about half done. The skeleton code needs proper rotation handling to be complete. I have put this on hold to work on other things. December 31, 2006 - Development Version 1.3.1 Released
This release includes Quake MD3 import/export, boolean operations, direct edit of translation and rotation keyframes, and tinting selected faces.

This release includes bug fixes for Quake MD2 export, an animation looping bug, and various minor fixes.
